When it comes to paint-spraying large objects such as trucks, railcars or buses, the added value provided by a platform system can’t be underrated. After all, a three-dimensional platform allows you to eliminate ladders or steps from the spray booth. The seemingly incessant hassle with those ladders and steps makes way for ease of use in its purest form. In addition, the functionalities of those platform systems are constantly increasing, which increases the added value even further.
Up, down, left, right, forward, backward... A 3D platform system can do it all. Specialist Alfadis Platforms constantly challenges itself - based on what is important with its customers - to think up new functionalities. And that zeal has already resulted in many additions today. Some of these additions to the original configuration are especially handy and smart, others are no less than necessary to be able to efficiently carry out extensive spraying work.
Experts will agree: a spray gun with a top cup is best suited for spraying work in the body shop or for spraying smaller parts in an industrial context. For spraying larger parts, it is important to have enough paint - read: more than a cup can hold. Initially, Alfadis Platforms therefore decided to integrate a paint supply line into the cable ducts of the elevator system, but this approach did not always prove ideal. After all, if you change colors frequently, you have to re-clean the piping each time; which takes time. Therefore, Alfadis Platforms found a better solution in a clever alternative: a paint installation with pump that moves completely with the elevator car. In this configuration, the pump installation is mounted on the front of the elevator cage. This means that the paint line only needs to be 2 to 3 meters long, which obviously simplifies cleaning.
Examples: Mol Cy, Stas,…
To achieve the highest result, the refraction of the light on the object to be painted is essential. For this reason, it is possible to equip the elevator with additional light spots.
In order to mask a surface as ergonomically as possible when lifted, Alfadis Platforms can implement doors or fences along the front of the elevator car. In this way, after manually opening or lowering the doors or fence, an operator can prepare the spraying work in slightly more comfortable conditions.
Those who want to be able to sand and polish in the cabin in addition to masking and spraying can consider having ATEX sockets installed in the platform cage.
For heavy industrial applications, it is possible to equip the cabin with a system for dust extraction.
A tactile sensor or a net under the cage ensures that in the event of a collision the damage can be contained. This is because when a signal is generated by the hypersensitive sensor or net, the elevator itself is immediately brought to a stop automatically before it can do any greater harm. Compare it to driver assistance systems: they too will intervene automatically if the driver reacts too slowly - or not at all - to prevent worse.
You cannot think of anything as crazy, or it can be implemented in one of our advanced Alfadis Platform systems. Everything depends on the activities someone wants to be able to perform in his spray booth. Moreover, the presence of additional functionalities does not affect the annual inspection of an elevator system. So, if you want to reach higher, do not hesitate to get in touch!
